Wedgewood is seeking an Instructional Designer to join our team! Our company is a leading acquirer of distressed residential real estate, specializing in the purchase, rehab, and resale of single family homes. Founded in 1985, we have grown into a diversified, vertically integrated company, expanding our business footprint to include non-performing notes, property management, private lending, brokerage, escrow, and more. We have 500+ employees and are housed in a 50,000 square foot, state-of-the-art headquarters in Redondo Beach, CA.

 

The Instructional Designer is responsible for assisting with the development of educational training modules, job aids, facilitator guides, and process flow maps.  This role works closely with the Learning & Development Department, Business Leaders and Subject Matter Experts to create an engaging and effective training program for required topics, business process flows, and compliance education to name a few. 

What you'll do

  • Designs training and performance support tools for delivery across multiple channels of the business.
  • Executes the training design and floor ready process to ensure training (content, delivery, and measurements) is accurate and relevant to the learner.
  • Creates high quality, visually engaging, and easy to understand training materials.
  • Generates custom graphic design products to grasp learner’s attention quickly and for periods of time.

What you'll need

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Camtasia, and PowToon.
  • 3 or more years of experience in an Instructional Design role.
  • Experience on creation of Learning Plans and LMS Administration.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Captivate and/or Articulate Storyline preferred but not required.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills to effectively relay complex financial and compliance law topics in an easy to understand and memorable format.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building are a must to work with Director of Learning & Development, Corporate Trainers, Subject Matter Experts, and Business Leaders to collaborate to create learning modules, facilitation guides, and all learning and development collateral.
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop content which influences, persuades, and directs learning so employees can be successful in their work environment.
  • Research skills, analytical and problem solving skills, questioning and feedback skills.
  • Customer service and sales orientation and commitment to quality, responsibility, high work standards, and initiative.
