Wedgewood is currently seeking a full-time Underwriter to join our team! Our company specializes in the purchase, rehab, and resale of single family homes (acquiring and selling REOs, foreclosures, and other distressed properties). Founded in 1985, Wedgewood has grown into a diversified, vertically integrated company, expanding its business footprint to include residential rehabilitation, non-performing notes, property management, private lending, brokerage, escrow, and more. Over the past 30 years, our company has built a longstanding reputation for its assorted multidisciplinary endeavors.

 

Facilitates the underwriting function to ensure continuous production of business products that are compliant with all regulations of law and internal company principles.

What you'll do

  • Ensure a high level of understanding of business products, process flow, and financial underwriting practices.
  • Evaluate applications for loans and make decisions regarding whether to approve for financing.
  • Performs all necessary functions to effectively and efficiently process underwriting role
  • Communicates areas of accountability and performance expected of personnel assigned
  • Identifies standards of performance as a basis to provide to Director, Operations for review and approval to measure progress of personnel assigned.
  • Ensures proper training of personnel assigned.
  • Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate conductive to maximize employee morale and productivity.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
