This is an excellent opportunity for a forward thinking Tax Manager professional to be part of team focused on delivering best in class Finance and Accounting services.

 

The Tax Manager will primarily focus on meeting the Company’s tax compliance and reporting needs. This individual will be expected to assist the Tax Director in developing processes and procedures for the tax department, monitoring and complying with tax and accounting deadlines.

This position also provides work direction and technical guidance to less experiences staff. The tax accountant II or senior tax accountant contacts clients to resolve minor tax matters. This role performs tax planning under direct supervision and may be assigned tax in-charge responsibilities.

What you'll do

  • Responsible for preparation and delivery of required federal and multi-state income tax returns and tax work papers for numerous LLCs, S-Corps, C-Corps, and individual taxation.
  • Coordinate with service providers for preparation and delivery of outsourced tax returns
  • Review and approve tax related journal entries, reconciliation of the tax accounts and ensure the accuracy of required supporting documentation
  • Manage the preparation and delivery of extension and quarterly taxable income estimates and tax payments
  • Assist with the maintenance of the fixed asset database
  • Assist in resolution of federal, state and local tax notices and audits
  • Perform research on various direct and indirect tax issues as needed
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
  • Trains, mentors and provides work direction to staff.
  • Reviews tax information supplied by client; may meet with or call client with questions.

What you'll need

  • 4-year degree in accounting, finance or other business related field
  • 5+ years of public accounting tax experience or 6+ years of related experience (combination of public and private preferred)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Real Estate industry experience required; Financial Services industry experience a plus
  • Must be detail oriented, efficient and organized
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and manage upward to multiple individuals in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify and propose solutions to complex tax issues
  • Ability to multi-task and work in tight frames and deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel at an advanced level
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external vendors to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results – be a team player
