Wedgewood is currently seeking a Closing Specialist to join our team! Our company is a leading acquirer of distressed residential real estate, specializing in the purchase, rehab, and resale of single family homes. Founded in 1985, we have since grown into a diversified, vertically integrated company, expanding our business footprint to also include non-performing notes, home warranty, lending, design, brokerage, property management, escrow, and more.

What you'll do

  • Prepare loan documents ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Effectively communicate status and expectations to internal staff, account executives, closing agents and notary signers.
  • Contact borrower, closing agents, and real estate agents to request conditions as needed to ensure close of escrow requirements are met.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service with quick response times and accurate information (both internally and externally).
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting other team members and management as needed.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline of loans without sacrificing responsiveness, client satisfaction or attention to detail
  • Review all pre-closing requirements including hazard insurance, flood certifications, underwriting conditions, vesting, taxes, title report, sales contract, etc.
  • Review and approve closing settlement statement verifying all fees are correctly disclosed and collected.
  • Review signed loan documents, settlement statement, loan approval and conditions.
  • Issue conditions and endorsements

What you'll need

  • 1+ years of mortgage experience as a loan closer and/or doc drawer
  • Knowledge of mortgage loan products, loan documents and loan funding requirements
  • Knowledge of real estate documentation, underwriting policies, and compliance
  • Knowledge of State closing processes
  • Strong initiative
  • Good customer/client relations.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
